Benefits Expire, Kindness Doesn’t — Join Our Holiday Food Drive!

October 2025

Use it before you lose it! Don't let your dental insurance benefits go to waste.

As the end of the year approaches, it’s the perfect time to check in on your dental insurance benefits—and make sure you’re not leaving money on the table.

Most dental insurance plans reset on January 1st. That means any unused benefits from this year will likely expire, and you’ll lose them for good. At Hinkle Family Dental, we want to help you get the most out of your coverage and keep your smile healthy and bright!

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Annual Maximums Don’t Roll Over
Dental plans typically come with a yearly maximum—the total amount your plan will pay for your dental care within the calendar year. If you don’t use it, you lose it!
  • Preventive Care is Often Fully Covered
Most insurance plans cover cleanings, exams, and X-rays at little or no cost to you. If you’ve been postponing a checkup or cleaning, now’s the time to schedule it.
  • Delaying Treatment Could Cost More Later
Have you been putting off a filling, crown, or other dental work? Small issues can become bigger (and more expensive) problems if left untreated. Using your benefits now can help avoid larger out-of-pocket costs in the future.
  • FSA Funds Also Expire
If you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), those funds usually expire at the end of the year, too. Don’t let them go to waste!
